Our Lady of Lourdes Child Development Center, one of the first early learning establishments in the country, was founded in 1957 by the late educator, Dr. Beatriz Pablo-Ronquillo.

This pioneering school has always maintained a strong commitment to providing the best foundation for the development of young children. Over the years, the school’s philosophy and method of teaching have gradually evolved to adapt to new developments in the field.

Today, the school prides itself on its child-centered approach to education.

At OLL Child Development Center, we believe that every child:

  • is unique – with his/her own learning style, pace of learning, personality, and activity level;
  • is a thinking individual who is capable of making decisions;
  • is a feeling individual who is affected by what he/she sees and hears around him/her;
  • has specific needs in all areas of development – cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional;
  • has different kinds of intelligence – spatial, verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, naturalistic, and spiritual;
  • is innately curious, and likes to observe, explore and ask about things around him/her; and
  • is active by nature, with a high energy level and short attention span.

We also believe that children learn:

through play;
by exploring and manipulating concrete objects;
by using their senses; and
through interaction with both adults and children.

The school, therefore, aims to provide the children with:

  • activities, toys and materials that are appropriate to their developmental stage, and which stimulate their holistic development and their multiple intelligences;
  • teachers who are competent, caring and sensitive, and with a genuine love for children;
  • a safe, child-friendly environment; and
  • activities that will instill in the children respect for the human rights of women, men and children, care for the environment, and pride in the Filipino heritage.

By providing fun, hands-on learning experiences, and maintaining a strong home-school partnership, we mold children into happy, creative, critical thinking, sociable and confident individuals.
